We reckon the Chequers goes back to the 'Gorgeous Georges' (ie: 18th century), with that traditional British village location right next to the church. One bar, simple but good-value food, and a few rooms upstairs. Close enough to Luton and the M1 to be readily accessible, far enough away to be truly rural.
