This is a large, brick-built, creeper-clad hotel with a lovely flower-bedecked rear garden and children's play area. There is a wide range of guest ales available, even outside the regular beer festivals held here. Private functions are catered for too. Robert De Parys, by the way, was a local Victorian philanthropist.
