The Inn was initially established as a ferry house to the village of Southrey across the river and became famous as a fishing centre and venue for major fishing competitions. It still has numerous fishing pegs plus there are several fishing lakes in the area.Within easy traveling distance of the historic city of Lincoln with its wonderful Cathedral, cobbled streets and excellent shopping areas.
It is also situated in the heart of the Second World War RAF bases and Air museums. The famous Battle of Britain flight aircraft, the Red Arrows who are stationed here, not to mentioned the AWAK's at Waddington air field. In June every year Waddington is the base for a spectacular Air show and people travel from all over the country and abroad to take part.
The bar area has a unique warm and friendly atmosphere, in a traditional country public house theme. Run by the whole family, the pub experiences seasonal changes from roaring log and coal fires with pleasant low key background music in spring and autumn, through to pub quizzes, beer festivals, and live acts throughout the summer.
Bar Snacks are offered or a full menu which can be served in the bar or in our separate 'non-smoking' dining room.
The rear of the pub and restaurant has a huge play area for children. With swings, slides, a wendy house and lots of toys. You can be sure you won't be interrupted by the children whilst enjoying a good meal or a few pints of real ale.
