A small and very friendly little pub, popular with real ale and steam train enthusiasts alike. The pub is decorated in a railway style, with many and occasionally historic photographs and memorabilia. Mobile phones are banned. Daily broadsheet newspapers and the local paper are provided. Wiltshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2001. There are always three or four guest cask ales on, often including a mild, stout or porter. The bar meals tend to take the form of bacon rolls or similar.
