A little pub set right on a busy section of the Monmouth and Brecon canal towpath, consisting of two front bars facing the canal, a lounge-bar overlooking the rear garden and a downstairs Function Room & Restaurant with bar. It was the Gwent Camra Pub of the Year in 1999. Functions can be held in the restaurant underneath the pub, and the landlord has been known to try and get your favourite beers in for your night out there. As the cellars are next to the function room, this can mean a choice of up to ten very well kept beers on at one time, (but expect four to six in normal circumstances).
